Remember several years ago when this happened:
During his tour in Canada a few years ago, Paul McCartney took part in a question and answer session with a fan and admitted that he still occasionally gets choked up when thinking about John. (And why wouldn't he? I do too and I never even knew John!) He said the last time it happened, "I was singing 'Here Today' for John, which is always such an emotional song because it brings back memories of me and John when were kids. I was holding it together until I saw a girl in the audience had totally lost it and was weeping. And it got me. I tried to look away, but it was impossible." (Source)
Anyone who may doubt the love those two had for each other, need only to watch this video of Paul getting choked up over John nearly 30 years after John's death. They were each other's soul mate. I don't see any reason to even try and argue that point. Their chemistry was and has been unmatched by anyone.
